To celebrate its collaboration with the Château de Versailles, Montblanc invited its guests to an exceptional experience - A true journey through centuries of artistry, opulence, and inspiration.

The exclusive collection pays homage to Louis XIV, embodying the quintessence of craftsmanship and grandeur that shaped Versailles and continues to inspire Montblanc’s creations today. The limited edition collection is inspired by the mastery of the royal marble masons of Versailles, the colour palette and patterns of the symmetrical gardens, the ornamentation of the Louis XIV's private chambers, as well as the grandeur of the Hall of Mirrors. A tribute to light, balance, and timeless artistry and an event that felt like stepping into a living masterpiece.

Versailles and King Louis XIV – inextricably linked to this day. The king’s taste for the magnificent manifests itself not only in the sheer scale of the palace and its glorious gardens, but above all in the 2300 rooms of the royal residence. The elaborate furnishings and decorations, made from the finest materials, are the epitome of regal style and splendour. The Palace of Versailles is more than a building; it is a complete work of baroque art in which architecture, garden design and arts and crafts harmonise to perfection. Louis XIV dreamed of transforming his father’s former hunting lodge into both a monumental residence and the focus of political power and cultural activity in France. With the A Journey through Château de Versailles Collection Montblanc takes a tour through this baroque masterpiece in celebration of the Versailles world heritage site. With the stunning A Journey through Château de Versailles Limited Edition 3, the master artisans at Montblanc evoke a sense of nostalgia through their extraordinary craftsmanship. Bringing the magic of the château to life, the edition draws the gaze from the spectacular Hall of Mirrors to its enchanting garden. The jewellery artists have transposed the majesty radiating from the heart of the palace onto this Limited Edition 3 by skilfully applying faceted enamel inlays to enhance cap and barrel of the solid Au 750 gold writing instrument. These breathtakingly fine miniature paintings depict the view of the gardens as reflected in the hall’s spectacular mirrors, seemingly immersing the beholder in the historical ambience of the 17th century. Each inlay is framed with gold strips, artfully hand-set with diamonds and delicate blossoms, echoing the characteristic Versailles aesthetic. In honour of Louis XIV, the ‘Sun King’, the sun takes centre stage in this edition: the artfully crafted clip ends in an elaborate diamond-encrusted medallion showing an image of the original sun king, Apollo. The opulent chandeliers of the Hall of Mirrors, in which the intricate tiers of crystals reflect the light in such spectacular fashion, are beautifully captured on the hand-crafted solid Au 750 gold nib, complemented by a brilliant-cut diamond. Marble decorations often found in the château inspired the engraving on the solid gold forepart. Louis XIV’s personal seal, the majestic double L monogram composed of two intertwined mirrored letters, also found its way onto this edition: the diamond-studded solid Au 750 gold cone takes the form of a seal stamp and as such can also be used to seal private correspondence. This skilled artwork is further refined with a pattern inspired by the design of the ornate parquet flooring in the palace. Borrowing its inspiration from the ‘Grand Chiffre’ system used at court for secret massages, the Limited Edition 3 has a similar air of mystery: it contains its own ‘chiffre’. Hidden in the cap top, a secret compartment opens to reveal the individually chosen engraving. Crowning the writing jewel is the Montblanc emblem set with diamonds in pavé, surrounded by a band of diamonds.

Avec le superbe A Journey through Château de Versailles Limited Edition 3, les maîtres artisans de Montblanc évoquent un sentiment de nostalgie grâce à leur savoir-faire extraordinaire. Donnant vie à la magie du château, cette édition attire le regard de la spectaculaire galerie des Glaces vers son jardin enchanteur. Les artistes joailliers ont transposé la majesté qui émane du cœur du palais sur ce Limited Edition 3 en appliquant habilement des incrustations d'émail facetté pour rehausser le capuchon et le corps de l'instrument d'écriture en or massif Au 750/1000. Ces miniatures d'une finesse à couper le souffle représentent la vue des jardins telle qu'elle se reflète dans les miroirs spectaculaires de la galerie, plongeant le spectateur dans l'ambiance historique du XVIIe siècle. Chaque incrustation est encadrée de bandes d'or, artistiquement serties à la main de diamants et de fleurs délicates, faisant écho à l'esthétique caractéristique de Versailles. En l'honneur de Louis XIV, le « Roi Soleil », le soleil occupe une place centrale dans cette édition : l'agrafe artistiquement travaillée se termine par un médaillon élaboré incrusté de diamants représentant l'image du roi soleil original, Apollon. Les lustres somptueux de la galerie des Glaces, dont les multiples rangées de cristaux reflètent la lumière de manière spectaculaire, sont magnifiquement reproduits sur la plume en or massif Au 750/1000 fabriquée à la main, rehaussée d'un diamant taille brillant. Les décorations en marbre que l'on trouve souvent dans le château ont inspiré la gravure sur la partie avant en or massif. Le sceau personnel de Louis XIV, le majestueux monogramme double L composé de deux lettres entrelacées en miroir, a également trouvé sa place sur cette édition : le cône en or massif Au 750/1000 serti de diamants prend la forme d'un cachet et peut ainsi être utilisé pour sceller la correspondance privée. Cette œuvre d'art raffinée est encore embellie par un motif inspiré du parquet décoré du palais. S'inspirant du système du « Grand Chiffre » utilisé à la cour pour les messages secrets, le Limited Edition 3 dégage une atmosphère mystérieuse similaire : il contient son propre « chiffre ». Caché dans le capuchon, un compartiment secret s'ouvre pour révéler la gravure choisie individuellement. Le joyau de l'écriture est couronné par l'emblème Montblanc serti de diamants en pavé, entouré d'une bande de diamants.
